“This is top drawer – elegant, detailed and richly varietal. The fruit is tart and tangy but not sour or thin. Mixed green fruits, apple, citrus, and a lightly toasted nose set up a wine with impressive length. The mid-palate richness includes ripe melon, butterscotch and cinnamon spice. It’s all barrel-fermented in neutral oak. This is a real strength of the brand.”

“A dark and spicy wine, with steaks of mineral and herb buried within a very tart, acidic black fruit. This is complex, quite youthful and tightly woven. I think it will require some years to pull itself together, but the balance is here, in a medium bodied style, showing some herb, some citrus and plenty of muscle. Tasted over many hours after being decanted, it showed itself to be a wonderful wine that developed multiple layers of flavor.”

“Deeply colored, it has an excellent bouquet of smoke, cedar, damp earth, black cherry and black currants. This is followed by a full-bodied Merlot with plenty of extraction, layers of flavor, excellent balance and enough structure to support 3-4 years of further evolution.”
