Novelty Hill • Januik’s executive chef Dan Koommoo leads the winery’s culinary program. Using fresh seasonal ingredients, Dan's creative menus and culinary instruction showcase how complementary food and wine pairings work together to enhance flavors and textures.
Dan joined Novelty Hill • Januik Winery in the spring of 2008 bringing a rich culinary background with him having cooked in Marriott Hotel properties around the globe, including Canada, Japan, England and Australia. Originally from Thailand, Dan moved to the U.S. in 1992 to complete his education. He holds a degree in industrial design and architecture from Georgia Tech and is a graduate of Le Cordon Bleu, Ottawa.
In addition to overseeing culinary service for private events at the winery, he will conduct corporate team building activities, wine appreciation seminars, and cooking classes from the winery’s state-of-the-art demonstration kitchen. "I like to keep food simple using fresh, local ingredients whenever possible, designing meals to accompany our wines, not the other way around."
